There is H.O.P.E. for Me is a resource to survivors of human trafficking and abuse. The main purpose of this organization is to provide survivor to survivor peer support to survivors and their families. Help is needed to end human trafficking and we can all do our part. Our part is to help by providing Healing, Opportunity, Purpose, and Empowerment to survivors of these crimes.
We offer HEALING by
– identifying those who have been trafficked.
– mentoring & peer support one-on-one and to families.
– referring to local services such as family and individual counseling. Places of worship they may desire, such as: vetted synagogues and churches.
– finding safe homes/shelters for survivors in need.
– offering support and encouragement to community kids (not just kids who are in the foster care system). Statistics show that the amount of community kids who are being trafficked (those who are still living at home), are much higher than those who are in the system!
We offer OPPORTUNITY by
- Certified Peer Support & Leadership Development. Once survivors find H.O.P.E., they want to help others and we want to enable them to do that. Through our survivor peer mentoring, we aid survivors to become survivor leaders!
- Helping survivors to go through MHPS (Mental Health Peer Specialist) training to obtain a certificate that can empower survivors to obtain sustainable employment.
- We partner with others in the community to see as many survivors as possible become mental health peer specialists and receive certified peer specialist training. This is possible even in the light of criminal charges and without a college education.
- Stipends are available to survivors who complete the necessary steps.
We offer PURPOSE by
– training survivors to become mentors to other survivors.
– assisting survivors in attaining GEDs/diplomas & applying to colleges.
– helping survivors find a vision for themselves through our one-on-one peer mentoring, so they can see a vision for themselves and work towards a new future.
We offer EMPOWERMENT by
– supporting survivors through their choices and decisions of regaining self-determination and autonomy.
– advocating for survivors.
– empowering survivors to become self-advocates and providing opportunities for them to mentor others.
